Musi Banyuasin Regency (Muba) has officially been designated as the host for the 15th South Sumatra Provincial Sports Week (Porprov) 2025, which will take place from October 18 to 31, 2025. This prestigious sports event will feature over 35 sports disciplines, with an estimated attendance of 4,000 to 6,000 athletes and officials from 17 districts/cities across South Sumatra.
As part of its support for the infrastructure preparations for the Porprov, PT Putra Muba Coal (PMC), a subsidiary of PT MNC Energy Investments Tbk (IATA), has provided Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funding for the renovation of the Multi-Purpose Building in Sungai Lilin District, which will serve as the official venue for two Porprov sports disciplines: Wushu and Tarung Drajat.
The renovation process began with the groundbreaking ceremony on July 8, 2025, led by the Deputy Regent of Musi Banyuasin District, Kyai Rohman. The event was attended by officials from the Sungai Lilin District Government, PT Putra Muba Coal management, and local security personnel.

“This contribution is part of the company’s social responsibility to support the improvement of public infrastructure and promote the growth of regional sports. We hope this multipurpose hall will not only serve as a venue for Porprov activities but will also continue to benefit the community for various social and public events,” said Suryadi Wibowo, Head of Mining Engineering at PT Putra Muba Coal
The renovation will focus on improving the structural elements of the building, such as the roof and flooring, as well as adding supporting facilities to meet the standards of sports competitions and ensure comfort for both participants and spectators.
This initiative reflects the spirit of collaboration between local government and the private sector in realizing meaningful development that directly benefits the community. The involvement of private companies like PT PMC exemplifies the spirit of mutual cooperation in ensuring the success of this provincial-level sporting event.
Carrying the tagline “Muba Moves Faster, Muba the Fighter”, Porprov XV embodies the enthusiasm of Musi Banyuasin Regency to excel in all aspects—organization, service delivery, and athletic achievement.
PT MNC Energy Investments, through its subsidiaries, remains committed to contributing to regional development through impactful and sustainable CSR programs in the fields of education, environment, infrastructure, and social welfare.
This initiative aligns with the company’s commitment to supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, which emphasizes the importance of building resilient, inclusive, and sustainable infrastructure.
This step reinforces PT Putra Muba Coal’s position as a business entity that not only focuses on its core operations but also actively contributes to regional development through infrastructure projects with tangible social impact.
The initiative is expected to serve as a best practice model for effective collaboration between the government and the private sector in advancing infrastructure that supports sustainable development at the local level.
